Park Garden & Kitchen

The Aire Park Community Garden & Kitchen, located within the eight-acre Aire Park development in Leeds, is a half-acre space dedicated to educating and inspiring the local residents. It will promote sustainability, looking after the natural environment, and encourage understanding of where our food comes from. The garden aims to bring together people from various cultures and generations, fostering an environment that promotes understanding and a sense of community amongst residents of Aire Park and the surrounding neighbourhoods. It seeks to bridge divides between different ethnic, political, and socio-economic groups.

The Community Kitchen will run cooking classes for all age groups and provide cafe dining using the produce from the garden. The surplus fresh produce and flowers from the garden, alongside additional local produce will be sold from the small shop.

To provide access to this wonderful resource, Vastint will provide transport for groups from surrounding neighbourhoods, allowing more individuals to participate and benefit from the garden. This initiative complements the community centre planned for Aire Park, which will offer free programs in art, language, exercise, and social meet-ups for local residents. Through these efforts, the Aire Park Community Garden aims to contribute to the overall well-being of the community and support meaningful connections among its members.
